History stores short summaries of past checklist runs so you can see whether the store is improving after fixes. Open WooCommerce > Maintenance Checklist > History
What is stored
Each history row is a summary, not a full findings dump:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Timestamp | When the scan reached a terminal state (UTC) |
| Score | Checklist score for that run |
| Provisional | Whether the catalog scan was incomplete / bounded |
| Environment | WP_ENVIRONMENT_TYPE at scan time (for example production, staging) |
| Softened | Whether non-production severity softening applied |
| Counts | Critical, warning, info, passed, ignored |
| Terminal state | completed, cancelled, or failed |
| Changes | Markers vs the previous terminal scan: new, resolved, unchanged, worsened |
Cap: the plugin keeps the latest 10 history summaries. Older rows are dropped.
Privacy: History stays in plugin options on this site only (stmc_history).
When a row is written
History is written only for terminal scans:
- Completed — normal finish
- Cancelled — only if some progress already happened
- Failed — scan ended in failure
Cancel with zero progress does not create a history row. Mid-batch progress does not write history until the scan ends.
Change markers
Compared to the previous terminal scan by check id and open severity:
| Marker | Meaning |
|---|---|
| New | Open finding present now that was absent or passed before |
| Resolved | Was open before; passed or gone now |
| Unchanged | Same open severity as before |
| Worsened | Same check still open, severity increased (info > warning > critical) |
The latest row is highlighted so you can jump back to the Checklist.
Filters
On History you can:
- Filter by environment
- Search across visible summary text
Use these when you keep staging and production history on the same install or when reviewing a long list of runs.
Clear history
Clear history deletes stored summaries only.
It does not:
- Change live findings on Checklist
- Clear ignored checks
- Delete WooCommerce data
Confirm before clearing; the action cannot be undone from the UI.
